mckinnon flats

McKinnon Flats is the take out point for most full day drifts originating at either Fish Creek Park or Policeman’s Flats and it is the put in for another great full day drift that ends at Johnson’s Island, just above the Carseland Weir. McKinnon Flats is also a popular day use area with good fishing both upstream and downstream of the launch.

Fishers are often seen at dusk casting to trout rising to frequent caddis hatches. If you are heading to McKinnon Flats from Calgary, head east on highway 22x and then head south on Range Road 274.
